Privacy policy
Outer Dice is made by Twisted Burrito Game Studio (“TBGS”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the game and this website collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose. Questions: support@tbgs.us.
1. Information we collect
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Account details. Sign-in name, email address, and a password (or, if you use Google sign-in, your Google account email and an ID from Google). Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito and stored only as a secure hash. We never see or store your password in readable form. | To create your account, verify your email, let you sign in and recover your account. |
| Public profile. Your display name (username), wins, losses, forfeits and leaderboard position. | Other players see your display name in games, friend lists and the leaderboard. |
| Game and social data. Your games, moves, scores, friend list and friend requests, and when you last used the game. | To run games, show whose turn it is, find opponents and keep the leaderboard fair. |
| Purchases. Which items you own (for example Remove Ads or a theme) and the store’s purchase identifier. Payment itself is handled by Google Play (or another store); we never see your card or payment details. | To unlock what you bought, on any device you sign in on, and to restore purchases. |
| Preferences. Your chosen theme and audio settings. | So the game looks and sounds the way you left it. |
| Advertising and device data. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. When an ad is requested or shown, Google and its partners may collect your device’s advertising ID, IP address and basic device information to deliver and measure ads. Where the law requires it (for example the EU, EEA and UK) we ask for your consent first. Buying Remove Ads turns ads off. | To fund the game. |
| Technical logs. Our servers record basic request information such as time, IP address and error messages. | Security, preventing abuse and fixing problems. |
Offline mode. If you choose “Play offline”, your saved games and your win and loss record stay on your device only. They are not sent to us. They are removed if you uninstall the game or clear its data.
Computer players. Some opponents in online games are computer-controlled accounts run by us. They do not collect any information about you beyond what is described above.
2. How we use information
We use your information to provide and secure the game, run matches and the leaderboard, process your purchases, show ads, respond to support requests, and improve the game. We do not use your information to make decisions with legal effects on you, and we do not sell it.
3. Who we share it with
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts the game and our website and stores your account and game data in the United States. AWS acts as our service provider.
- Google provides Google sign-in (if you use it), Google Play (downloads and payments) and AdMob (ads). Google’s own privacy policy applies to what it collects: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Other players can see your display name, record and leaderboard rank. They cannot see your email address.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety, rights or property of players or TBGS.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising other than the ads described above.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your account and game data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (see below) we delete your profile, friends, purchase records and sign-in, and free your display name. Records of finished games you took part in may remain, showing only the display name used at the time and no link to any account. Operational logs are kept only as long as we need them for security and troubleshooting.
5. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account and data in the game (Settings, Account, Delete account), or by following the steps on our delete account page, which also works if you can no longer open the game.
- Change your display name in Settings (once every 30 days).
- Ads: you can limit ad personalisation in your device settings (for example Google > Ads), and buy Remove Ads to stop ads entirely.
- Access, correction, portability, objection. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, EEA, UK, or California and other US states) you may have rights to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, to receive a copy, or to object to or restrict some uses. Email support@tbgs.us from the address on your account and we will respond within the time the law requires (normally 30 days).
6. Children
Outer Dice is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the local age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
7. Security
Connections to the game and this site use HTTPS. Passwords are never stored in readable form, and access to our servers is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
8. International transfers
Our servers are in the United States. If you use the game from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
9. This website
This website is static: it has no accounts, no forms, no analytics and no advertising cookies. It does not set cookies. Our hosting provider records ordinary access logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the game or by email.
